Candy Samples is a Caucasian American pornstar who was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She is an Aries according to the zodiac and has green eyes and naturally brunette hair. She always wore a wig or dyed her hair blonde while performing or being photographed. She stands 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 121 pounds. Her body dimensions are 48DD-24-36 and while she started her career all natural, after taking a break at one point she did get implant surgery to further enhance her bust size. She has no tattoos and no body piercings. She has used a few alias names over her career which include Angie Parks, Lydia Chase, Mary Garvin, Mary Gavin, Mary Wendover, Vivian Andresen and Candy Mosler. Her career in adult entertainment began around 1968 when she was in her late twenties. She had moved from the Midwest to California as a widow with a son who she was raising on social security benefits. She was working in the San Fernando Valley area as a model who would attend private functions and model clothing and accessories table to table, otherwise known as a tearoom model. As she tells it, she was walking down a street in Marina Del Rey when a man named Dick J. approached her about doing some nude magazine modeling. She agreed to it a couple of weeks later and this was how her long career in adult entertainment got started. Candy became a regular in several men's magazines such as Fling, Juggs and Gent in addition to others. Also in 1968 she appeared in a nude but non-sexual role in the film called "Tough Guns" from Abacus studios. Her next few roles were similar in works such as "Convict's Women: Bust Out" from Something Weird Video and director Howard Perkins in 1970. She worked for the same studio the following year on the softcore film "Love Boccaccio Style" and hardcore and softcore versions of "Ensenada Pickup" in which she has a scene with male performer Henry Ferris. Candy was actually quite concerned with the possibility of being prosecuted for obscenity and so she kept her hardcore work to a minimum in these very early days of her career. She did a lot of feature dancing at gentlemen's clubs during the 1970's and already had a very large following. The fact that she also had credits in some adult films only helped sell more tickets to see her dance which was not a bad thing for clubs or herself. This would become a business model that many feature dancers would emulate to this day. Candy had some commercial success outside of adult films and magazines as well. She worked on the film "Flesh Gordon" in 1974 which was a takeoff on the already camp Flash Gordon film and comic character and was also one of the first adult parodies of it's kind. She also appeared in the movie "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens" which was written by Russ Meyer and Roger Ebert and directed by Meyer in 1979. Regarding her personal life, Candy mentioned in one interview very early in her career that when she set out on her own that it had been with the help of a sizeable inheritance. As she tells it, she met a car salesman who she fell completely in love with. By the end of their relationship though, the truth was that he had taken her for all she was worth and left her penniless. One can only speculate whether or not she would have ever gone into nude modeling if this had not been the case. Miss Samples has said though that when she first started modeling that she fell in love with it. She never set out to be a hardcore performer but once she began working nude she thought of the camera as a man and always wanted to turn it on just like she was feeling turned on. It's hard to argue with that philosophy as she became one of the most recognizable people in the business and her name synonymous with extra large breasts. Candy wrote a long running column in the men's magazine Juggs which helped launch her career and in which she appeared a great many times in her early days. The column was called "Candy's Column" which certainly got straight to the point. She would often include a nude photograph or two with her column which kept fans coming back for more. She wrote on a personal website that she's been in touch with some of her fans ever since they personally wrote in to her column with questions or comments. She shares her personal photographs from trips around the world on the site and also photographs of her doing her dance routine at various clubs. In 1979 Candy appeared in the film "John Holmes and the All-Star Sex Queens" which was produced by Zane Entertainment Group. Her busty friend Uschi Digart starred along with her and they each have several scenes in the film. They appear together with Johnnie Keyes in a hot interracial threesome scene. She appears with John Holmes in two of the movie's scenes, first in a one on one and then in a threesome with Valerie Clarke. She also starred in films like "Candy's Bedtime Story" which featured her as the only female having sex with the men. She was an industry icon at this point in her career and would have been considered a "dinner table" celebrity if talk of adult stars was appropriate for the dinner table.
