A widow, Ruth (Little Puck), and her stepson Calvin (Parker Ambrose) arrive home, with Ruth looking very upset. It is revealed that Ruth's wealthy parent recently passed away, and Ruth and Calvin have just returned from the reading of his will. Since the parent was obsessed with his genetic legacy being continued, Ruth's two siblings will be receiving their share of the inheritance immediately because they both have biological offspring... but since Ruth 'only' has a stepson, she can't have her share until she gives birth to her own little one.
